We are looking for a project administrator to oversee our new project namely ‘Genius Search’ that commences in autumn and will culminate in a showcase on 10th December 2016. This is a music project integrated with events management working with 15 creative young people over 10 weeks and leading to an Arts Awards qualification.
Aim of Job
To offer administrative support to staff and volunteers who include tutors and a group of teenagers working to develop songs and pieces of music plus choreography and a showcase in which they will be presented. He/She will oversee and ensure the entire project runs smoothly. The project start is October and ends in December 2016 and will be required every Saturday for a minimum of 4 hours per week.
The Project Coordinator needs to be:
1. Experienced in administering an arts project or have administered a similar activity before.
2. Experienced in working with young people in a music related activity.
3. Able to motivate and support the team and the young people through the workshops and performance
4. Passionate about working with young people.
Tasks of Project Coordinator will include:
a) Ensure the project both workshops and showcase runs smoothly
b) Prepare and set up the venue for workshops and showcase
c) Support staff and volunteers to deliver their work
d) Follow up calls to young people e.g. Reminders of workshops.
e) Ensure all paper work is completed where necessary including registration and consent forms
f) Keep attendance registers
g) Administer workshops evaluations
h) Ensure adequate supply of stationery and seating
i) Deal with queries any of the young people may have
j) Encourage and motivate the young people to complete the program
k) Purchase, delivery and provision of refreshments
l) Perform any other duty that may be required by the management of ‘Genius Search’.
The position will be paid at an hourly rate to be agreed. The role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Baring Service/Police Check) and 2 satisfactory references before confirming the appointment.
