Music Intern

We are looking for Music Interns or trainee tutors to work on a music project ‘Genius Search’ with groups of teenagers in developing songs and pieces of music plus choreography that will be presented in a showcase. The project will commence in October and end December 2016. The interns will be required for 2-3 hours every Saturday between 10.00am -1pm.

The Intern will need to be

1. Aspiring artist or music student and preferably have a record of or interested in creating music, songs and dance.

2. Preferably with ability to play a variety of instruments.

3. Ready to assist in facilitating workshops and encourage young people to express their ideas, whilst also having the wherewithal to enhance those ideas in a way that fits with what was intended by the youngsters.

4. Willing to work as part of a team in guiding the groups of youngsters through the showcase performance

5. Able to demonstrate to the young people the difference between creating a piece of work and performing it.

The position will be paid at an hourly rate to be agreed. The role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Baring Service/Police Check) and 2 satisfactory references before confirming the appointment.
